Italy cycling tour

Five locations, five experiences, five hotels, one passion

Start from the Lungomare Bike Hotel in Cesenatico to spend an itinerant cycling holiday through the Boot. Ride along unique natural landscapes, with the possibility to admire, on the saddle of your bike (or the Pinarello that you can rent directly at the hotel), the art and history that make Italian cities open-air museums!

Together, we will cycle along the roads of the Bel Paese, among five breathtaking sceneries: from the blue horizon of the Adriatic coast to the rugged Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, crossing the gentle slopes of the hills. We will admire the charm of Lake Garda and Verona, the magic of the Stelvio, the ups and downs of the Langhe and the thousand-year history of Rome.

At the Lungomare Bike Hotel, the only four-star hotel directly on the sea of Cesenatico, native land of the unforgettable Marco Pantani, you'll pedal on the same routes where the Pirate used to train, savouring the carefreeness, happiness, romance and the italian “dolce vita ”: "That's Amore".

You will then move along the slightly undulating path that winds along the roads along Lake Garda, discovering its different shores, even up to Mount Baldo.

You will cycle along the classic Piedmont, which will take you to the hills overlooking Turin, up and down the vineyards of Langhe and Roero.

You will try to challenge the famous Stelvio Pass, which with its 2758 meters of altitude, is the second highest pass in Europe.

You will ride down Italy, to Fiuggi, a spa town, where you will cycle through 2000 years of history - on the same roads used by the ancient Romans - reaching Rome, the Eternal City.

NOt only bikes.

It is without doubt that Italy, besides being the most beautiful country, is also the most tasty. Among the many surprises that your trip will reserve you, there are the genuine flavors of the products of regional cuisine and the finest glasses of wine.

In Emilia Romagna, birthplace of homemade pasta, you will be tempted by the numerous first courses such as tortellini, cappelletti, lasagne and tagliatelle with meat sauce typical of Bologna. Surely, you won't be able to say no to excellent food and wine such as balsamic vinegar, Parma ham and Parmesan cheese, just to name a few, which go well with piadina.
Here, every course is a mouth-watering treats , especially when paired with local wines, such as Trebbiano, Lambrusco, or Sangiovese - the father of Chianti.

In Veneto you will let yourself go to the notes of the precious extra virgin olive oil with designation of origin PDO oil. You will enjoy freshwater fish and the omnipresent polenta. But above all, you will feast sipping the best local wines: Bardolino, Valpolicella, Amarone and Soave. Every meal can only end with a taste of one of the Veneto grappa.

In Lombardy, in the mountains of Valtellina you can regenerate yourself with typical local products such as pizzoccheri, “sciatt” and bresaola.
Taste them, accompanying them with a glass of Franciacorta.

In Piedmont you can taste one of the most famous truffles, the Bianco d'Alba, excellent on tagliatelle in white with a little creamed butter.
Do not hesitate to ask for a bagna cauda, the typical hot sauce made with garlic and anchovies, with which to accompany seasonal vegetables.
What is the ideal wine to accompany your meals in Piedmont? Choose between Barolo and Barbaresco.

In Latium, you will taste the characteristic Ciociarian cuisine of handmade pasta, such as "fini fini" or you can delight yourself with soups - such as "sagne e fagioli" or the excellent "ceci e rosmarino" and "verdure con il pane". The Latium landscape, with its plains and hilly reliefs, favours native red grape varieties. Among these you can delight your taste buds with a glass of "Cesanese del Piglio DOCG".
