What airport should I fly in to?
The nearest international airports are: Bologna Airport, Ancona-Falconara Airport and Rimini Airport. In any case, we can organize the transfer from any Italian airport, both for individual travelers and for groups.
How to I get to the hotel from the airport?
Dont' worry, we can come and get you at the airport. Otherwise you can take the train and then a taxi.
By car. By the A14 Autostrada, take the Valle del Rubicone exit. Once on the S.S. Adriatica follow the directions for Gatteo a Mare and follow in the direction of the sea until you reach the seafront. Turn left and continue for a few hundred meters. You will find the hotel directly on the beach.

Should I bring my own bike?
Whether to bring your own bike or renting one of ours wonderful Pinarello is your personal decision. Some riders prefer to ride their own bikes. Of course knowing your own bike is a huge plus. However there are hassles inherent to shipping or bringing it as luggage on the plane (including a substantial cost) or in the car. You may prefer instead to bring simply your pedals, shoes, and saddle and give you the opportunity to ride a Pinarello. Or even better, decide to rent everything here.
If you decide to bring your bike, please remember to check it out and tuned up by a mechanic before you arrive (tubes, tires, brakes): as the bikes we rent, also your bike should be in the best conditions in order to avoid problems and make your holiday safe and fun.
If I take my own bike, is there someone who can help me assemble and disassemble it?
We have a mechanic at the hotel. If you need help with your bike, just let us know in advance, so that we can schedule the operation. If you are able to assemble your bike by your own, we have tools needed in our bike room.
What do I need to bring to ride?
We do recommend that you carry your own shoes, pedals, and certainly your helmet. We provide you with the saddle, but you are welcome to bring your own, if you prefer.
What should I do if I am hungry or have to use the bathroom during the ride?
During the ride, we usually stop one or two times in typical italian bars, cafes or gelateria for a break, where you can buy something to drink and eat, and use the bathroom.
Should I prepare for riding with you?
No, it’s not necessary, since we have different levels of guided tours each day and different terrain to ride. We believe that cycling is for everyone, so our itineraries are designed to accommodate all types of riders—from cycling newcomers to avid riders and everyone in between. However, we think that if you prepare at home riding some kilometres or hills you will get the most out of riding here.
How should I behave on the road during a group ride?
Our guides know the proper and safe way to ride on our roads, so you should follow their lead. Before the ride, they will review hand signals and any particular things about the tour that you should know.
Can I ride alone without a guide?
Yes, of course, but we don’t recommend it. Lungomare Bike Hotel is a Guided Tours Company and only with our expert and friendly guides you can get a more accurate sense of the beauty of our country and its people.
Also, with SOLO tours you could end up riding wrong roads (busy or in poor state of repair) or too challenging climbs. Or maybe you could find yourself lost. Moreover, you could completely miss amazing countryside, ride roads without traversing beautiful villages and pass in front of fantastic medieval squares and historic cafes without even knowing it. In short, you could miss the “real” place.
Have I to provide a medical certificate to join your tours?
No, a medical certificate is necessary only if you want to ride a Granfondo or a cycling/triathlon race.
How long does each ride last?
Our rides usually last 3 to 6 hours. Rides start every day between 8.30 to 10 am (it depends on the weather and seasonality) and cyclists are due to be back between 1 and 5 pm, for their post-ride buffet.
How many riding levels do you have?
During our peak cycling season (March, April, May, June, September) we offer 5 levels of rides, in order to accommodate the large number of cyclists we host.
During shoulder months (July, August, October), we offer from 3 to 5 ride options, but we will do our best to ensure that each cycling guest rides in his appropriate group.
How many cyclists are in a group?
We usually have groups of maximum 10/15 riders, for the best comfort, safety and fun. Please keep in mind that groups are determined by fitness level and interest of each cycling guest.
How many guides are assigned to a group?
The number of guides depends upon the tour length and difficulty, as well the riding level of cycling guests. Usually there are 1 or 2 guides.
In case of problems to my bike how will I get back?
In case of serious problems, incidents or breakdown of your bike, we have a assistance service to come and get you with our shuttle van. Don’t worry, our guide will arrange your pick up.
What happens if it rains? Do I lose a day of riding?
Our guides could decide to cancel or change a ride because of poor riding conditions caused by the rain. This is for the safety of our cycling guests.
If weather conditions are supposed to improve later in the day, guides could decide to postpone the ride. Or, with light rain, guides could decide to change the scheduled tours, preferring shorter and safer routes.
In the unlikely event the weather is really bad, and the forecast does not call for improvement later in the day, guides will cancel the ride for safety concerns.
In this case you could consider the activities our hotel and our destination provide, like our SPA, shopping, cultural trips and plenty others. In the event that we have to cancel a ride, no refunds will be provided.
Is there traffic in your area?
Yes there is traffic in our roads, but not in the routes we have carefully designed. Our guides will take you on secondary and lesser known roads, in order to avoid traffic and busy areas. However, traffic may be encountered, so pay attention as you would in any road of the world.
What can I do after the ride?
Our rides usually take most of your holiday time, but we are in Romagna and there is always something exciting to do! You can sunbathing in our beach, in front of our hotel. Or have a sport massage and relax in our intimate SPA. Or you can have some shopping, explore beautiful Cesenatico or have a trip to Rimini, Ravenna, Bologna and many other destinations. There is plenty to do and we can provide you with our best advice.

What’s the weather like in the region of Cesenatico, Romagna?
Weather in our area is lovely and Mediterranean. We are located by the sea and this means warmer temperatures, a gentle wind all year long and many beautiful sunny days.
In March and October, weather and temperatures are cool and perfect for riding, specifically for training.
April, May, June and September are the most beautiful months: warm in temperature and fantastic in the landscapes that awaits you. In these months are usually held cycling races, granfondo, triathlon events and.. Giro d’Italia!
In July and August, temperatures get higher, but we easily continue to ride: in these two months usually rides are just a little bit shorter and start earlier.

What if I have to cancel my booking?
Life happens and we understand that plans can change. This is why all our cycling holidays have a generous cancellation policy: up to 30 days before the check-in date, you can cancel for free. If you cancel 1 day before the check-in date, the cancellation fee is just the 30% of the amount. No refund for no-shows.
My partner doesn’t ride. Do you accommodate non-riders?
We welcome non-cyclists with open arms and, in reality, this is a very frequent request at the Lungomare Bike Hotel. Non-cyclist guides have a lot of things to do: relax on the beach right in front of our hotel, try one of the cooking classes we organize, go shopping, relax in our SPA or by the pool, explore Cesenatico, Rimini, Ravenna and many inland villages. In short, there are countless things to do. In addition, of course, to be present at the Tuesday and Thursday excursions with their cyclist partners (we accompany non-cyclist guests with our shuttle to our outdoor picnics).
Do I need an insurance to ride with you?
Although, it is not required to ride with us, we recommend you to purchase insurance for your own piece of mind.
Can I make a group booking?
Yes, of course! We host a lot of groups every year. Please fill in this form for group requests.
